I have been reading a lot on FB recently about people trying to decide why or how they got to be creative. Was it something you had always done from childhood or was the desire to be creative something you picked up as an adult.
Personally I come from a creative family so I guess it was inbred so to speak. My Grandfather was a bricklayer by trade but he built from scratch a telescope, 3 long case clocks and 2 12th scale steam traction engines. My Mum was a needle woman, knitter, and crochet queen and made many of my clothes as a child. My dad was a self taught artist for his hobby.
It seems natural to me that us as kids should be creative.
My brother has inherited the knack to tinker and sort out engines and he builds models to the annoyance of his wife (messy brother), my sister is the talented artist of the family and makes the most amazing cards. I am the one obsessed with the tiny beads and sparkly things, although I dabble in all sorts of other bits. Cards, quilling, felting, scrap booking etc….. My son is proving to be quite the talented musician so I guess it is passing on through the genes still.
So what got you started with being creative, maybe you don’t think you are or maybe you have just not found the right thing yet. I am a firm believer that every one of us has a talent whether or not we have discovered it yet. So go on take a class or try something new today you never know where it will lead you. Chimpy. x
