The question has been asked about what my favourite materials to work with are and why?
Well that is easy…beads, to be precise small beads, very small beads.
As a child I was fortunate enough to grow up near the seaside and would spend many hours trying to find stones with holes all the way through them. They were my lucky stones and I remember threading them onto a piece of string and keeping them. Sometimes they would get painted but most often they just hung in the corner of my room. This was probably my first foray into threading and stringing.
These days though I spend a lot more time and money on buying a whole variety of shiny, sparkly beads of all shapes and sizes. When you can make the wide variety of items that I see with the tiniest of beads what’s not to love.
So the answer to the question is my favourite materials to work with are beads because of the wide variety of finishes, shapes and colours that are available. The versatility of these little bits of glass and semi precious stones etc are only limited by your own imagination. So have you tried using beads yet………If not, why not ?
Here are what my friends are saying……
