Over on the Jewellery Artisans Community website (http://jewelryartisans.proboards.com/) we have come up with the blog topic of shapes this month. I am not really drawn to any particular shapes when it comes to my artistic journey but I do like to see what can be made in respect of 3d bead work.
I have of course tried making a variety of 3 dimensional works over the years with what can only be described as ‘interesting results’ Most of which have now been ‘frogged’ (rip it, rip it) However the last couple of years I seem to have improved significantly in this area and have been able to make some pieces I am very pleased with.
This started out as 3d triangles although as of yet I have not done anything with them.
The next piece I made was of a 3d container with a lid. I have put some lavender inside and this hangs up in my Craft room by my desk.
Other pieces have been stars which I went a bit mad for last Christmas and this year it was beaded people.
My latest ‘I have to make’ was a beaded spike ball. Don’t ask me why, but when you get an artistic itch you just have to scratch it. So there I was again scouring for a suitable pattern.
So as you can see I tend not to have a specific ‘shape’ I like to follow with regards my bead work I am more of a scatter cushion kind of artist than a perfectionist. I already have a couple of ideas lined up for the next ‘experiment’ so time will tell how they work out.
Only a short blog from me this month as I have a major project on the go at the moment, more about that another time.
Happy Beading people, Chimpy out. x
Here are what the others are saying.
